epay and Vectron strengthen partnership with new Android-based payment solution for increased efficiency in the restaurant sector

Martinsried (Munich/ Germany), 10 March 2022:

Vectron Systems AG (Vectron) has once again joined forces with epay, a subsidiary of the NASDAQ-listed payment service provider Euronet Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ:EEFT). Together the two partners are launching a new Android solution, which combines a POS app, card reader, receipt printer as well as many other functions in one handy payment terminal. The new Android-based terminal, which is already available on the market, is being targeted primarily at the hospitality and restaurant sector. Inspired by the user-friendly design of a smartphone, it combines multiple functions in a single device, meaning businesses no longer need to rely on multiple point-of-sale machines. The terminal meets all the necessary regulatory standards and accepts all major debit and credit cards, as well as contactless payments and popular alternative payment methods (including QR payments).

This new Android payment solution is the point-of-sale equivalent of the Swiss army knife: It takes the simplicity and usability of smartphone apps and applies this to a wide range of payment and customer service tasks, including taking orders, processing payments, printing receipts (using a high-speed thermal printer) and scanning QR codes (using its twin cameras for alternative payment methods).

By opting for this new product, restaurateurs can replace multiple physical devices with a single Android terminal, and also digitize and speed up their customer service processes. Plus, the terminals are extremely easy for their staff to use. These combined benefits mean a faster and slicker customer service experience for their guests.

„The feedback from the first restaurateurs who are already using the new Android-based solution – the all-in-one Vectron A920 Plus terminal – confirms the innovative power of the new joint offer with our long-standing partner epay.“

– Thomas Stümmler
CEO of Vectron Systems AG

Due to the possibility of installing apps, the functionalities can be expanded as desired. Gastronomes thus only need one device for most applications at the POS. The terminal can also be easily connected to the business’ Electronic Cash Register using the ZVT protocol. The Android-based payment solution accepts all major debit and credit cards, as well as popular mobile payment methods such as Google Pay, Apple Pay, Alipay, PayPal and WeChat Pay. All payments are processed by epay, which is one of the world’s leading full-service-providers of prepaid solutions and payment processing.

„We’re committed to making life simpler for restaurateurs and their guests. That’s why we’re one of the first network operators in Germany to offer an Android-based payment solution which covers all major payment methods. In Vectron we have secured a strong partner to help us bring the latest benefits to the restaurant and hotel sectors. We now want to open up these benefits to other industries and use cases by expanding the terminal’s range of functions.“

– Stephan Heintz
Director DACH at epay

The Android-based solution can be easily upgraded to include other existing epay services, making it the perfect solution for many other use cases, such as guest registration in the tourism sector, easy contactless payments on the customer’s doorstep for take-away businesses, and immediate on-site payment for tradespeople following completion of a job.
