Tipping via card payment
Gastronomy has special needs in the acceptance of cashless payment options. Tipping, in particular, is an important component of income for service staff.
With the epay tipping function, the guest can easily pay by card and reward good service at the same time with tipping.
The tipping function was previously only possible with credit cards (MasterCard, VISA). epay also offers the tipping function for debit cards (girocard, Maestro, V Pay). The restaurateur can choose from two tip variants.
Variant 1 – Tip post-booking
- After normal payment, a receipt with tip line is printed
- Guest enters tip on receipt line and signs
- Merchant performs rebooking
Variant 2 – Tip entry at the POS
- Payment incl. tipping is carried out at the POS terminal with a transaction
- POS terminal offers tip entry, guest enters tip amount
- The tip amount is added to the payment amount and the guest pays
