epay provides new payment convenience to O2 Telefónica shops and retailers with new POS solution featuring Android terminals

epay, a leading full-service payment provider and part of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: EEFT), has implemented a new POS solution for O2 Telefónica. The new solution includes a smart Android payment terminal with girocard acceptance and a custom cash register application developed specifically for the telecommunications company. This enables O2 shops and O2 Telefónica retailers to efficiently and user-friendly process the latest payment methods, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, NFC, and many more, as well as the most popular method in Germany – girocard payment. Over 300 terminals have already been delivered to shops and retailers for the launch.
Thanks to Android technology, epay’s new terminals combine the payment functionality of a conventional POS system with the user-friendliness of an Android tablet. Shop employees and retailers benefit from an intuitive user interface that allows them to not only process payments but also install various apps directly on the terminal, thereby expanding their services and easily updating applications.
The new POS solution for O2 Telefónica not only enables faster transactions but also optimizes checkout processes by combining numerous services on a single device – increasing efficiency at the POS and providing customers with a compelling shopping experience. This is made possible by the integrated epay interface, which also allows external hardware to be migrated into an existing environment. Shop employees and retailers benefit from space and cost savings while accepting all common payment methods. Thus, epay can handle the complete processing, acquiring, and value-added services such as gift card management and much more through its powerful data center and implement them for its customers from a single source.
