Euronet signs two large lottery chains in Germany for e-top-up solutions

Euronet Worldwide’s (Nasdaq: EEFT) subsidiary, Transact, today announced the introduction of electronic top-up (e-top-up) services at the lottery outlets of Westdeutsche Lotterie GmbH & Co. OHG (WestLotto), the largest German lottery operator and Niedersachsen Lotterie, another leading lottery chain. Transact’s e-top-up services will be available at a combined total of 4,500 outlets of the two lottery chains.

The prepaid service agreements with each of the two lottery chains – WestLotto and Niedersachsen enables them to offer Transact’s convenient e-top-up service to their customers at a majority of their respective lottery outlets across Germany. Transact will offer its e-top-up service on existing lotto terminals at these outlets. WestLotto and Niedersachsen will be among the first lottery chains in Germany to have taken the initiative to offer the popular electronic prepaid mobile products by introducing Transact’s direct top-up products. Transact has started the roll out process to all WestLotto and Niedersachsen outlets and expects to complete the roll out by the end of the year.

“We have successfully signed two large lotto chains in Germany – WestLotto and Niedersachsen— to offer our profitable e-top-up services for the first time at their outlets. Our solutions are best-in-class and allow the lotto chains to offer the new products on their existing terminals and benefit from a new revenue stream with much ease. Additionally, the succession of large prepaid agreements signed by Transact this year alone further strengthens our prepaid market leadership in Germany and we’re very pleased with the efforts of our German team to service the market.”
