Update
Alipay now available in Swiss branches of the Müller drugstore chain
The traditional drugstore group Müller now offers Alipay as a payment method in its 60 Swiss branches. The technical implementation was again handled by epay, a specialist for electronic payment transactions.
As a long-standing partner, we are proud to support Müller in its digitalization in its core markets with the successive Alipay roll-out in the DACH region: Implementation began as early as 2018 in the 553 or so Müller stores in Germany, followed by 89 Austrian stores in 2019. Alipay is not only a popular payment method – as the largest digital payment platform in China, it also offers merchants the opportunity to draw the attention of Chinese consumers to their own business, as it includes a store finder and marketing options for merchants in addition to the payment function.
Even if Chinese tourists are currently absent due to the Corona Pandemic, it is important to invest in the future in good time. The future of payment will see payment methods with the greatest convenience factor for the consumers.
The demand for but also the supply of innovative, mobile payment methods is constantly increasing – and with it the complexity for retailers. As an internationally active payment service provider, we offer them a technical solution with future-proof flexibility. This enables merchants to adapt their payment and service portfolio to their consumers’ needs at all times, thereby retaining consumer groups and attracting new ones – without significant additional expense.
Once the interface to our processing platform has been established, we can also map future payment methods and other services – regardless of whether the consumer pays with a classic payment card or with a portable device such as a smartphone and regardless of whether the payment medium shows interaction via magnetic strip, chip, NFC, barcode or QR Code.
