Germany’s debitel partners with Euronet’s Transact subsidiary for e-top-up solutions
LEAWOOD, KANSAS and MUNICH, GERMANY—November 30, 2004:
Euronet Worldwide’s (Nasdaq: EEFT) subsidiary, Transact, today announced it has signed an agreement with debitel, the third largest provider of mobile-telephony services in Germany to provide electronic top-up services (e-top-up). debitel is Europe’s biggest network-independent telecommunications company.
debitel’s clients can now access Transact’s convenient e-top-up service at more than 4,500 electronic cash registers within debitel`s exclusive sales channels at all retail chain stores, which are subsidiaries of the Metro Group. Prior to the transition to electronic top-up solutions, these sales channels relied on scratch card distribution.
